Maps and Data
As part  of the IWRM project, we'll be developing a variety of maps and data that we will share with the residents of Colchester. Check this page periodically as we'll be adding more pieces as they become available.

Stormwater Infrastructure Inventory

This map illustrates stormwater infrastructure permitted and unpermitted that was inventoried during the summer of 2009 by Stone Environmental. This information is important for the development of a stormwater management program and to support the town’s efforts to maintain these valuable assets. In addition to the inventory, any town easements for the infrastructure were identified and associated to the infrastructure in the GIS database.

Number of Structures by Watershed

This map illustrates the range in number of structures by watershed. As part of the project, new watersheds were developed from recent high resolution elevation data. The delineation was accomplished using tools contained in the USDA’s Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) Model. As an early indicator of stormwater runoff, Stone extracted the number of buildings contained in each subwatershed using Vermont’s E911 “E-sites” database.

Water Supply Mapping

POTABLE WATER SUPPLY MAPPING

As part of the technical component of this effort, staff from Stone Environmental, Inc. will be working in Colchester this summer to create a map of public and private drinking water supply locations. Workers will start in the northwest corner of Town, around Clay Point Road, and will work clockwise around Colchester. We will not need to visit properties that are served by public or community water systems.
